Press release from the Delaware Technical Community College: April 27, 2022 Delaware Tech is proud of the student-athletes that represent the College. Athlete Spotlight honors one athlete each week on the Delaware Tech Athletics Instagram account for their athletic performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment to education. Mike Pagliei Mike Pagliei is a second-year member of the baseball team, an HVAC major, and a graduate of Brandywine High School. Pagliei has been a clutch hitter for the baseball team all season. Through 35 games, he is batting .363 with 50 RBI (Top 20 in the nation) and 8 home runs. He also plays a solid centerfield and has been one of the leaders on and off the field as the team has posted a 29-6 record. Caleb Secrist Caleb Secrist is the starting goalie for the men's lacrosse team, a middle-level math education major, and a graduate of Lake Forest High School. Secrist's play in goal has been a huge factor behind Delaware Tech's outstanding 2022 season. He finished the season 5th in the nation in total saves, 10th in save percentage, and 2nd in wins. On April 9, he recorded 25 saves in Delaware Tech's 15-8 win over Mercer County Community College. Carly Collins Carly Collins is a member of the softball team, an elementary education major, and a graduate of Sussex Central High School. Collins has been on fire pitching for Delaware Tech this season. She is 8-1 with 41 strikeouts and a 1.26 ERA (Top 10 in the nation) over 55 innings. Collins is equally as successful in the classroom, as she is a former recipient of the highest GPA team award and has a perfect 4.0 GPA. Chris Friend Chris Friend is a member of the baseball team, an elementary education major, and a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. As the team's designated hitter, Friend has knocked 8 home runs with 29 RBI and a .313 batting average. He came through in the clutch on April 23 against Mercer County Community College when he batted 3-for-7 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI.
