This information packed seminar will cover all aspects of showing a dog. Greg Strong is an active member in the AKC Registered Handler Program. He has been involved with breeding, raising, and training show dogs all his life. He attends an average of 140 to 160 dog shows each year. He has been successful in exhibiting in all seven groups with many Best In Show winners from those seven groups. In addition to professional handling, Greg owns a boarding/grooming/training facility in Easton, Maryland. $300 for participants $150 for auditors *Light fare and refreshments will be available The seminar will focus on the following topics: Defining the term "Handling"Starting your first dogThe makings of a great show dogTechniques for competing with the professionalsBuilding confidence for you and your dogPsychology and philosophy in training your dogBuilding a winning partnership with your dogOverall presentation of a show dogWorking participants should bring well socialized dogs to the seminar. The seminar is meant to help improve handling skills and dogs should have enough ring experience that participants may focus on learning themselves and not struggling with a puppy. There are a maximum of 25 working spots available. This seminar will take place over 2 days, 9am - 4pm each day, with one hour per day allotted for a lunch break. Participants are expected to attend both days. Working participants may bring up to 2 dogs but may work only 1 dog per exercise. Dogs may not be left overnight. We will be following current COVID guidelines at the time of the event. Masks are not required.
