One day Classroom and Field-based Educational Workshop Focused on Identifying Florida Panhandle River Turtles
The Apalachicola River basin boasts the highest diversity of reptiles and amphibians in North America, north of Mexico. This one-day classroom and field-based workshop will focus on species identification and introduce participants to the rich variety of riverine turtles of North Florida. Come learn about turtle biogeography across the region and pick up some tips on key field marks used to identify individual species or groups of turtles. The program is being hosted by UF/IFAS Extension in partnership with the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve.
