HARLEM, NY — Want to scrounge for some bargains, search for a gift or just enjoy the sunshine in the neighborhood? Consider stopping by this weekend's stoop sale, which will hit dozens of homes around Central Harlem. Organized by the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association, the stoop sale will take place within the Mount Morris Park Historic District, spanning between West 116th and 125th streets alongside Marcus Garvey Park. Thus far, 77 households have signed up to sell items at the sale, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. (See here for a map.) "Come bargain hunting for antiques, toys, clothes, furniture, household items, and wonderful things that residents in the Mount Morris HIstoric District Community are selling or giving away," reads an invitation from organizers. A rain date has been set for May 15, but there appears to be little need for that, with forecasts calling for sunny skies and balmy weather this coming Sunday. Households could continue to sign up to sell items through Thursday.
