This seminar will provide detailed training on completing a FEMA Elevation Certificate (EC) accurately and in its entirety for all uses. Course Objectives: Learn to complete a FEMA EC in order to satisfy the requirements of CRS and other programs. Understand the data needs for each individual section of an EC and how to get it. Understand how the EC is used by CRS, local communities, and other programs. Change attendee’s approach to ECs from “minimum needs” to “best practice”. Avoid common mistakes that can invalidate the EC for certain programs. Course Description: This course will provide the attendees with: Detailed training on how to complete a FEMA Elevation Certificate (EC) accurately and in its entirety, allowing full compliance with any program that requires submission of an EC.Review the current version of the EC and provide guidance on the proper use and implementation for permitting, LOMAs, and the new NFIP Risk Rating 2.0 insurance.Cover EC requirements for surveying, foundation flood openings, and certification.Review the Community Rating System (CRS) requirements for an EC and those portions that can differ from other programs.Identifying the portions of the EC instructions that apply when surveys are needed and when surveys are not needed to achieve full compliance with all programs.How to identify common errors and omissions, review of the various EC building diagrams. Real-world examples and applications of EC.4 CEUs available for CFMs
