NJ Brewery To Make Ukrainian-Inspired Beer To Aid Relief Efforts

NEWARK, NJ — In an effort to provide humanitarian relief to war-torn Ukraine, Anheuser-Busch this week announced it will brew a Ukrainian-inspired beer at its Newark brewery. The brew will take its inspiration from the beloved Ukrainian beer Chernigivske, Anheuser-Busch announced in a release. Chernigivske was named after the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv and has been brewed in Ukraine since 1988. The crisp, European-style lager will be served on tap in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Houston and Phoenix beginning in May, the company said. Proceeds from beer sold in the United States will go to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund, an organization providing humanitarian relief amid the country's ongoing conflict with Russia. Chernigivske-inspired beers will also be introduced by Anheuser-Busch affiliates in Canada, Columbia, the United Kingdom and eight other European markets. Anheuser-Busch's parent company InBev, which owns Chernigivske, said it plans to donate a minimum of $5 million to humanitarian aid organizations working in Ukraine.
