Remodeled San Ramon Safeway To Host Open House, Donate To Charity

SAN RAMON, CA — Safeway is celebrating the grand reopening of remodeled stores in San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo Thursday, and is donating $15,000 to local nonprofits. Each store will also host an Open House Celebration from 5-8 p.m. featuring a red carpet, food sampling, giveaways, wine tastings, and live music. The remodeled locations now feature expanded options in meat, seafood, deli, bakery, locally grown produce, alcohol, boutique specialty items and Italian foods, florists, and a new concierge catering service. "We are committed to re-invest in our stores and better serve our communities," Karl Schroeder, President of Safeway's Northern California Division, said in a statement. "We hope our customers will enjoy the expanded variety and assortment at these locations. Customers will find a premium and robust selection of fresh, local, and organic offerings tailored to meet their needs." In honor of the expanded offerings, the Safeway Foundation is donating a total of $15,000 to the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley, Agape Villages, and St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County.
