Description
SHARON, MA — Outdoor water restrictions are in effect through Oct. 1 after the Sharon Select Board approved the outdoor water use order at its Tuesday meeting.
Lawn sprinklers, either underground or hose-fed, are restricted to 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays only for odd-numbered homes, and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays only for even-numbered homes.
Residents may use a hand-held hose with a spray nozzle without restriction. There may be exemptions for newly installed lawns up to 14 days.
Those in violation of the order could be cited and receive a surcharge on their next water bill. The first offense is a warning, second offense is a $50 fine, third offense is a $100, and subsequent offenses are $300 fines for each violation.
