We are currently seeking an experienced accounting professional to become our Director of Finance for our corporate office in Orland Park, IL. The Director of Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for completing a variety of general accounting duties, including employee payroll. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for Payroll duties including but not limited to: develop/implement payroll procedures, analyze/input data, prepare/audit statements and reports, and maintain employee payroll records Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. Assist with the financial affairs of the organization and with preparation of financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for management Process month-end balancing and journal entries, and complete all month-end reports. Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis and reconcile general ledger accounts. Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Required Experience, Education and/or Training: Minimum 4 year degree in accounting plus 5 years experience in all aspects of accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Thorough knowledge of general accounting and demonstrated competence in the application of general accounting theory.Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilitiesProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), payroll software, and other financial or accounting applications.Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.Excellent communication and organization skills are required.Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. Additional Experience, Education and/or Training Preferred: CPA preferred but not required.Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory experience.Previous experience with payroll processing preferred but not required.
