PALM SPRINGS, CA — Swirling dust and growing winds have led Palm Springs Police to close North Gene Autry Trail between Salvia and E. Via Escuela Thursday. As of 11 a.m., the amount of blowing sand and lack of visibility made driving in that area dangerous, according to officials. Both Indian and Date Palm remain open as an alternative driving route, police said. Location:N Gene Autry Trail between Salvia and E Via Escuela is CLOSED.
