The Town of Sharon seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, benefited (37.5 hours/week) position of Public Health Nurse/Administrator. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: Promoting and protecting the health of and preventing disease in the Town’s population, performing highly responsible professional nursing duties in a variety of public health programs, observing and evaluating the physical and emotional conditions of patients, conducting investigations of communicable diseases, and making home visits. Also performs supervisory work managing the varied responsibilities of the Board of Health, including implementation and enforcement of state and local public health statutes and bylaws, health promotion activities and emergency response planning. Minimum qualifications and experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution; one-year experience in public health or infectious and communicable diseases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
