DETROIT — A woman was killed Thursday morning after a speeding Jeep fleeing police crashed into her SUV on in Detroit, police said.
Police said officers tried to stop a speeding Jeep Cherokee at 12:20 a.m. in the area of 8 Mile Road and Southfield Freeway. But the driver of the Jeep didn't stop, instead it ran a red light going over 70 miles per hour before crashing into the Ford SUV, killing the woman, police said.
The 32-year-old woman was found dead at the scene of the crash and three men in the Jeep were taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officials did not release the names of those involved in the crash, as officials continue investigating the incident.
