Coronavirus Caution: Manhattanville College Shifts To Online

HARRISON, NY — Starting Thursday, Manhattanville College will suspend in-person instruction through March 29. All classes will be shifted to remote learning. Campus events will be canceled or postponed, except for athletic competitions, which will continue but be closed to spectators. "There are no known or suspected cases of coronavirus at Manhattanville," said ManhattanvilleInterim Provost Louise Feroe. "The health and well-being of our community is our first priorityand we are doing what we can to encourage the social distancing that public health officials areurging to slow the spread of COVID-19. Manhattanville is on spring break this week and classes were scheduled to resume next week,although some graduate classes were in session this week. Feroe added that a decision wouldbe made and announced no later than March 25 as to whether on-campus instruction andevents would resume on March 30. Meanwhile:  All classes will continue remotely. Faculty teaching courses that cannot be moved online (i.e. certain lab classes, performing arts, and fine arts) should discuss with department chairs and school Deans for guidance. Residence halls and dining services will remain open. Athletic competitions will continue but will be closed to spectators, intramural eventsare canceled. All campus events will be canceled, postponed, or changed to virtual events throughMarch 29.  The College will be closed to outside visitors, such as those coming for tours and events.
