I'm a folk/blues/americana musician currently based out of the Vail area. I have been operating out of this Valley the past 3 years as a working musician. This year I put a studio album out called "The Wandering" and have received enough interest from venues outside the valley and western states to hit the road a bit. I'm looking to connect with cool folks with good fun-loving, but passionate attitudes who are interested in band work in and out of the valley. I'm a vocalist/guitar player, I play a fair amount of harmonica in my act as well. Guitar, bass, mando, banjo, drums, violin, cello are all good fits. A little about me, I'm 30 from Montana. Been playing about 15 years. Passionate in songwriting and music. You can find me on Spotify, Itunes, Youtube, etc. under "Al Maul." Love being out in the sticks, hockey, good literature, and painting. Totally in love with the guitar, and am always pursuing learning more and more about it. I've been in a few bands over the past 5 years and still play with one of them at times on a "casual/fun" level. Having said that, this project that I am pursuing is more on the serious side of things. Having fun and keeping it light is so important, but for that to happen; rehearsals, professionalism, and competency are all required. I'm a pretty open-minded guy, love when a rehearsal drifts into some Hendrix or Childers, etc.. Whatever it is. Love both, the improvisational styles and the written parts. The album is folk, but the live act leans a little more into blues/rock/indie/western than what is represented there. Second album is coming up pretty quick. Totally open to wherever the road leads.
