Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Production Supervisor positions with a leading online luxury mattress manufacturer and retailer, specializing in organic and natural latex mattresses. Position Details Location: Camarillo, CA Salary: $80K - $90K Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package Position Description As a Production Supervisor, you will supervise the daily activities of production and warehousing personnel and provide key leadership to safety, training, quality, housekeeping, and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations within the production team. You will be held accountable to ensure production and warehousing activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with the company’s values and objectives. Responsibilities will include: • Directly supervise the production employees on the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. • Exercise good judgment in the utilization of manpower. • Communicate expectations, measure and assess employee performance, provide coaching and development opportunities, and administer disciplinary action if needed. • Directly monitor the production processes and production quality to ensure compliance to established company standards. • Oversee the training of production employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating any of the manufacturing equipment and that they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions. • Help to develop and lead safety meetings and training sessions. • Perform root-cause analysis as well as implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production. • Oversee the Production Planning process to ensure compliance to the production schedule and production changes. • Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities. • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions. • Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position job safety assessments and standard operating procedures. • Maintain workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas. • Review and approve employee timekeeping. • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Position Requirements • Military veteran. • 4-year degree or equivalent experience a plus. • 3+ years of Supervisory experience (manufacturing environment preferred). • Proficient in use of MS Office. • General understanding of Quality systems. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, & Six Sigma a plus.
