Fatal Crash On Cross Westchester Parkway In Harrison

HARRISON, NY — Police say that a driver who hit the center median on the Cross Westchester Parkway died Saturday after his Mercedes Benz hit the center median, overturned and burst into flame. Police were called to the crash on eastbound I-287 between Hutchinson Parkway and Purchase-Port Chester at 4:21 a.m. Preliminary investigation suggested the driver over-corrected after hitting a delineator on the right side the highway. Information about the driver is being withheld until positive identification can be made and next of kin has been notified. The accident investigation is ongoing.
