Everde Growers, a leader within the horticulture industry with a true coast-to-coast footprint consisting of over 6,700 acres in production encompassing 14 farm locations throughout Texas, Florida, California, and Oregon, is seeking a Pesticide Applicator for our Forest Grove, Oregon growing fields. The Pesticide Applicator position is a horticulture nursery laborer who assists in applying pesticides for plant protection around the farm. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!! We will train you, on applying pesticides in a SAFE and OSHA-compliant manner. A requirement of this job is that you must be able to lift 50 pounds. You must have the ability to work well with others in a team setting. This job will require that you be able to work for extended periods of time in variable weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, rainy, etc.). You must be able to work while wearing protective clothing under all weather conditions. This includes wearing chemical resistant gloves, safety glasses, coveralls, respirator, and more. The duties of this position include: - Supporting the Plant Health Department by performing pesticide applications on a routine basis. - Utilizing different types of pesticide spraying equipment - Handling pesticides safely and knowing the basic rules about using them in an agriculture setting. - Complying with all safety rules and wearing all PPE required for the task(s) at hand. WHAT WE NEED: - Excellent interpersonal skills--working with a team - Detail oriented, good organizational skills, ability to work with a very diverse work group - Effective communication, be able to read and write in Spanish or English - Basic math skills - A valid Oregon drivers' license is a plus
