HARLEM, NY – New York City's Test & Trace Corps staff will be canvassing Harlem on Tuesday as the neighborhood's coronavirus daily testing average continues to increase. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced during his daily press conference Tuesday that staff from Test & Trace corps, a public health initiative created to fight the coronavirus, would be going throughout Harlem handing out masks and offering support to those who have tested positive for COVID-19. ZIP code 10030, Central Harlem, reported a 5.4 percent positive rate from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, with 1,055 people tested to date and a median daily test rate of 607.4. This makes it the ZIP code with the third highest positivity rate in Manhattan. According to the city's most recent one-week testing positivity data, cases in Harlem's ZIP codes are increasing.
