Salem 'Stop The Spread' Coronavirus Test Sites Extended 3 Months

SALEM, MA — North Shore residents will be able to get tested for coronavirus in Salem through the end of the winter after the two "Stop the Spread" sites were extended three more months. The state has extended all "Stop the Spread" sites through March 31 — including the ones at Salem High School and Old Town Hall. The sites are open to all residents of Massachusetts. Pre-registration for both sites is not mandatory, but is strongly suggested. That can be done here. The Salem High location is a drive-thru location open from 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Those headed to that site are reminded that more students are expected back at the high school for in-person learning in January and therefore cars will not be allowed to line up prior to 3 p.m. If the traffic reaches Wilson Road, the line to get into the testing lot will be temporarily closed until it lessens. Those wanting to be tested will then be asked to return in 15 to 30 minutes. Saturday testing at Salem High is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Old Town Hall is a walk-up testing site on Derby Street. Old Town Hall is open for testing Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fallon Ambulance provides the testing via nasal swab. Results are emailed within 24 to 48 hours. Those being tested at these sites do not need proof of insurance or citizenship and do not need to have illness symptoms.
