Salem Seeks Public Input On Municipal Harbor Plan

SALEM, MA — Salem is looking for public feedback as the city's Municipal Harbor Plan looks to "create a shared understanding of issues and opportunities along Salem's waterfront, including the historically industrial port area." An online survey can be found here and residents are asked to click the "add a comment" button, then use the icons on the map to note preferences, likes, dislikes and leave any suggestions. In February, the city said it would put aside $140,000 from a $1 million Seaport Economic Council grant to "to embark on a harbor planning and community visioning effort that will revise the Salem Harbor Plan." "For over a decade we have focused on establishing Salem's historic port as a central part of our economic strength and our community's vitality," Mayor Kim Driscoll said at the time.
