Description

Join Tualatin Riverkeepers to Become a Paddle Volunteer Tualatin Riverkeepers (TRK) is a community-based nonprofit working to protect, restore, and enjoy the Tualatin River watershed by promoting environmental stewardship, and we LOVE when our community volunteers with us! Now that you've attended our Paddle Volunteer overview session, the next step is to attend a riverside launch site training that will cover the use of our trailers, equipment, boats, and paddling gear. We will also be going over trip procedures and responsibilities that are required on each outing so you can be safe, confident, and have a thorough understanding of the situations you may encounter as a paddle volunteer. Note: we will NOT be paddling this time, but we will be outdoors. We will meet at the Tualatin Riverkeepers office. Our address is 11675 SW Hazlebrook Drive, Tualatin, OR, 97062. We are fortunate to be located near the 99W Boat Launch, so there will be a brief 3-4 minute walk to the launch site where the majority of the training session will take place. Since the training will be in the evening, we do recommend wearing the appropriate shoes and jacket for warmth or rain protection. Registering for this event will reserve a spot on Wednesday, May 4th. Please contact our River Experiences Coordinator, Mark Fitzsimons, at [email protected] if you have any questions about commitments and requirements beforehand.
