HARLEM, NY — A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after being struck by a train Friday afternoon at Harlem's 125th Street and Lenox Avenue station, an NYPD spokesperson said. The 60-year-old fell onto the station tracks and was hit by a train shortly before 1 p.m., police said. Medics removed her from the tracks and took her to Harlem Hospital, an NYPD spokesperson said. She is expected to survive, but was admitted to the hospital in serious condition, police said. Police do not know exactly how the woman fell onto the tracks, but no criminality is suspected, an NYPD spokesperson said. Service on the 2 and 3 lines was suspended in Manhattan as first responders worked to rescue the woman, transit officials said. Service was restored with delays at about 2 p.m., according to New York City Transit officials.
