Dutchtown Animal Hospital is looking to hire a entry level part-time kennel attendant. Rate of pay will be dependent on experience. Kennel attendants will generally be in charge of the care and keeping of dogs and cats in our boarding facility, with occasional contact with other domestic animals. General duties include keeping cages clean and sanitized; walking, feeding and picking up after the animals; and reporting on the animal's condition to its owner, a veterinarian, and a direct supervisor. They are in charge of the general upkeep of animals in our care and must provide individualized attention to them so they stay healthy and happy. Shifts will primarily be evenings, weekends, and holidays. Other duties may include but are not limited to: Medicating animals in our care Bathing Laundry Cleaning and maintenance of the facility Restraining animals for procedures such as nail trims Assisting other employees and clients in a cheerful and respectful manner Skills and qualifications: Should enjoy working with dogs and cats Able to read, write, understand and follow oral and written instructions Able to humanely handle animals under various circumstances Able to work harmoniously with other employees Able to stand for long periods of time Able to lift and carry 40 lbs unassisted Able to bend and squat regularly Able to handle large animals (up to 100 lbs dog) Must be punctual, reliable, and responsible Job Type: Part-time Pay: $7.25 - $8.50 per hour Job Type: Part-time Applications will be accepted in person, no phone calls please
