The products we represent are chosen from the best manufacturers and quarries throughout the region. Our primary business is sales of hardscape products; including concrete pavers and walls, natural stone, bulk rock and mulch, water feature supplies, and all the accessories to go with these materials. Our primary customers are landscape contractors working within the 7 county Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Position Description: The Supply Yard Operator is the key service provider in a majority of the sales occurring in our landscape supply center. Primary activities relate to loading landscape products into or onto our customer's vehicles. The Operator position works with the customer to achieve the accurate and safe loading of materials, and as such this position requires a person with good communication skills and a positive attitude. This position is built within a team of knowledgeable Sales Professionals and aside another Yard Operator. Teamwork is a skill required and appreciated within the Bebergs Company. Loading of landscape materials is completed in majority with bobcat type skid steers and/or forklifts. The Operator does assist at times with hand loading of materials into the vehicle. Bricks and blocks are handled and moved as part of this position. Many other tasks are part of the daily activity of the Operator, and some do include manual effort. Such activities may include building displays, maintaining portions of the facility, maintaining equipment and trucks, and processing landscape materials and supplies in our storage areas. This is an outdoors position, and thus the Operator will need to have the physical capacity to work within Minnesota summer type conditions in a safe and effective manner. The position does present certain physical demands including warm summer weather, regularly lifting items up to 75lbs, regular climbing into and out of the equipment, and vibration from operating equipment. Responsibilities: - Utilize equipment and/or manual effort to prepare customer orders for shipping or pick up, in a SAFE and EFFICIENT manner. - Utilize equipment and/or manual effort to handle and load landscape products into or onto customer vehicles, in a SAFE and EFFICIENT manner. - Maintain the supply yard in a manner to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our customers and other employees. - Monitor and maintain equipment used in the yard. - Communicate with customers to confirm accurate order processing, safe customer activity in the supply yard, and in a moderate degree to identify products a customer is interested in previewing. - Demonstrate appreciation and a sense of urgency for our customers in our supply yard. - Develop a strong awareness and recognition of the products we sell in our yard. - Assist with construction of and maintenance of landscape displays and facility features. - Assist with placement and merchandising of inbound inventory. - Assist with maintaining the facility in cleanliness and supply. - Be punctual and take pride in being dependable and accountable to the customer and the Beberg Team. Qualifications: The priority in qualifications is your work ethic and personal attitude towards your work and those around you. The Operator must maintain a positive and can-do attitude through the challenges of warm weather, high paced loading activities, and other challenges the Operator may encounter. A consistent commitment to safety is must, and the Operator must be capable of identifying potential unsafe situations and avoiding them. Ability to operate small heavy equipment such as skid steers and forklifts is a must. Adequate training time will be provided to master our specific equipment, but comfort and experience operating this type of equipment must be demonstrated. Typically one year experience operating similar equipment is required. The operator must be willing and able to learn how to identify and handle each landscape product in our supply yard. Experience in landscape installation or similar field is highly regarded. The Operator must be able to multi-task and organize efforts in a high paced, multiple demand, environment. Job Type: Full-time Schedule: This position is based on an average week of 40-45 hours. Our store hours are Monday through Friday 7am-5pm and in the months of April-June Saturdays 8am-12pm.
