Maintenance / Residential Porter Job Type Full-time Full Job Description: Maintenance 1: Sweep, mop, and clean building common areas, hallways, elevators, lobbies, stairwells, and sidewalks, etc. Sterilize high touch areas of the building. Maintain trash rooms, and move trash and recycling to curb for pick up. Operate trash compactor if the building is equipped with one. Monitor various areas of the building for debris, clogged drains, and areas that require repair, reporting issues to manager. Interact professionally and courteously with building residents and workers. Assist manager with other maintenance tasks as needed. Maintenance 2: Includes maintenance 1 duties plus Some light electrical repairs Changing outlets, switches, fixtures Light plumbing, faucets, toilets Light painting Qualifications 1-2 years of experience as a porter or custodian, or in other similar facilities roles. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Experience working safely and professionally around building workers and residents. Proficient in the use of common cleaning/sanitizing tools and chemicals. Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Friendly and attentive demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills.
