Shapiro Glass is a Full Service Glass Company servicing Manhattan and the Bronx for over 65 years. Specializing in everything from glass shower enclosures, custom mirror installations, window repairs and replacements and all other facets of glazing in commercial and residential applications. Seeking a Candidate who is motivated, energetic and independent with experience installing frameless shower enclosures and mirrors. Additional experience with other facets of glazing, such as window replacements and repairs is highly sought after as well. Job sites are primarily in Manhattan involving high end renovations. Attention to detail is a must! Job Responsibilities And Qualifications -Must have well rounded knowledge of window installations and repairs, including the parts needed and proper procedure to repair/install windows -Strong attention to detail -Excellent customer service skills -Install glass, mirror and shower enclosures at customer locations, according to specifications and to customer satisfaction -Make adjustments as required to correct for minor product deviations -Assess repair requests, remove product if required, make minor repairs at customer location, or take accurate measurements for replacement product - Keep office informed of status of all work assignments throughout the day to ensure that commitments are maintained and productivity is maximized - Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in custom glass & mirror measurement, fabrication or installation experience as an installation/glazing assistant, is preferred - Must be willing to learn and expand experience into all areas of a busy shop - This position requires a good ability to use basic tools, basic math skills and the ability to take accurate measurements. Must have your own tools. - A professional image, positive work attitude, strong customer service skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve results and a "can-do" attitude are also required attributes for this position - Basic computer and smart phone/tablet skills are required as well as a willingness to learn and effectively utilize the proprietary business system. - Must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Must have a satisfactory driving record. Physical Demands This position is generally in the field at customer locations. It is necessary to be physically able, agile, willing to climb on ladders and sometimes maneuver into difficult and tight situations in order to accurately measure and install for product applications. Lifting required may be up to 100 pounds. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
