WESTPORT, CT — Confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Westport stood at 261 as of Monday, and the number of deaths remained at 19, according to state health officials. In Fairfield County, the number of deaths reached 1,034 as of Monday; the total number of confirmed cases in the county was 13,312, state health officials said. Statewide, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased by 211 to 33,765 and the number of deaths rose by 41 to 3,008, state health officials said on Monday. Additionally, the number of new hospitalizations in the state declined by 30 to 1,212, and as of Monday 132,508 people in Connecticut have been tested. Westport distributed free surgical face masks to small businesses on Monday, and will again hand out free surgical face masks, this time to residents, on Tuesday.
