Darren Lee Jenkin Jr Resource Center is hosting their 3rd annual Save Our Street Community Event
The Save Our Street We Want to be Heard Event concentrates on raising awareness about the violence in Springfield, Ma. The goal is to allow the youth in the community to address any thoughts on how the city can decrease the ongoing violence in Springfield. This event is to enable the child to use their freedom of speech. The event is to create a safe environment for a child's voice to be heard. It will be a peaceful event because we want the city to listen to us from a positive perspective. Donations will be accepted for future opportunities for the Darren Lee Jenkins Jr resource center to gain more access to provide more resources for children such as sports, arts, music, etc. The big question is, "If you could change something about your community, what would you change? There will be open dialogue for children to do Q&A questions, and community leaders will be present to answer them. DLJ Resource Center will be providing entertainment, food, music, and kid's activities for the event. We are also looking for young talents, vendors, and guest speakers. Please reach out to Juanita Batchelor or Ebony Branch for any questions.
