HARLEM, NY — A shooting and a stabbing that took place within hours of each other Saturday in East Harlem left two men dead, according to police. Police responded to the stabbing around 5:50 a.m. Saturday at the corner of East 125th Street and Park Avenue, right across from the Harlem Metro-North station. Officers found the 41-year-old male victim unconscious and unresponsive, with a stab wound to the torso. Paramedics brought him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification. Around 3:42 p.m. Saturday, police responded to reports of a shooting at 10 Paladino Ave., part of the Wagner Houses complex. Police found the victim, identified as 24-year-old Christopher Caraballo, a Brooklyn resident, lying face-up near the building's entrance. Caraballo was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not announced any arrests or named any suspects in either case.
