Westport Police Search For Suspect Seen Performing Lewd Act

WESTPORT, CT — A man was seen masturbating in his car as he asked a woman for directions in Westport on Monday, and police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect. The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. on Compo Road South in the area of Bluewater Hill South. The woman was walking when she was approached by a man in a red sports car. "The male asked her for directions at which time she realized he was masturbating while he spoke with her," police said in a statement. "The female fled and the suspect left traveling northbound towards the Minute Man statue." Police said the suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 40 and 50 with light brown skin, brown eyes and short spiked black hair. Additionally, he was wearing a silver chain, black tank top and sunglasses, according to the victim. The suspect's vehicle was described as an older model red sports car with a black spoiler and loud exhaust; it may have had Connecticut registration plates.
