Fundraising concert BBQ and beer to support parkinson's awareness For those of you who don't know... I'm Sven Anderson and two & a half years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I was placed on medical leave at work & Covid quickly followed. During this strange and difficult time in my life, I fell in love with hiking. For some inexplicable reason I felt my best while walking on trails in the great outdoors. Camping/backpacking followed and the feeling remained. I learned about the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail which runs from the border of Mexico to the border of Canada and like so many others, I became infatuated. So, I put my name into a lottery and now I'm officially attempting the hike starting May 23. There have been obstacles - e.g., fractured elbow and Parkinson's symptoms and there will be many more I'm sure. I am fundraising the cost of the trip. Once I reach my budget amount I want to pay it back by fundraising for organizations supporting those who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's. I am reworking the budget right now and will post an update soon.
