CJ Williams (ret.) & Prof. David Zlotnick of RWU Law discuss what it means to be mindful and how that can benefit the practice of law. How can we as lawyers learn to be more mindful? Being present means being empathetic and emotionally aware, all of which can you make you more productive in dealing with clients and their conflicts. Mindfulness facilitates making making ethical decisions as you avoid actions driven by reactions in haste. Your presenters will explore chosing clients wisely, collegiality and colaboration, managing anger and ego in negotiation, integrating empathy into your legal practice, the lawyer as peace maker and overwell lawyer wellness. Lawyers from any area of practice can benefit from these skills. The program presentation includes interactive sessions designed to show mindfullness in action in a legal setting.
