OP/ Here's a couple of things to point out: Free speech is fine, unless it causes the harm of people. You're aware you can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater right? Same would be true if you incited a riot. On the 2nd amendment I once again must point out that every time a Dem gets elected POTUS the gun people start screaming "they're coming to take our guns!". And *every* time it doesn't happen. Why do you promote a non-existent fear? ===================================================================================== Free speech is fine? Unless it is misinformation which is defined by the powers that be. Facebook is working with the white house to determine what speech and opinions and news stories are allowed to be posted on Facebook. The fascist rightwingers tried to claim that there was a laptop that they say belonged to Joes son and it had some crazy misinformation on it that was clearly Russian propaganda planted by Russian spies that could have effected the election if it would have been allowed to be posted on facebook. And so in order to protect the integrity of our elections the story was banned from not only facebook but every other news outlet. The only one who ran with it was fox and we know why they did it. There were doctors who posted their medical opinions about covid that were contrary to Fauci and the CDC and they were kicked off of facebook and twitter for posting misinformation. These measures are there to protect us from misinformation that will only confuse us and misinform us. Some racist fascist republicans were trying to post their crazy conspiracy theory that the election was stolen. They were banned and for good reason. This kind of misinformation could divide the nation. Facebook and the white house told us there was no evidence to question the election and so once again they were protecting us from misinformation. And now elon musk is threatening the entire system by allowing the people to post almost anything they want to. I hope something is done about this before things get out of hand, If people are allowed to express their opinions freely all hell will brake lose. The existent fear is elon musk and misinformation. Next thing you know elon will come out for gun rights. I would not be surprised.
