Today I saw a monk walking down Mission toward 22nd Street. I was standing with a scooter and asked you if you were a monk. You said “Yes.” I replied “Thank you.”
It was a gift to see you today and in fact, I really needed it. You appeared right after I started listening to the Heart Sutra in my earbuds. Talk about serendipitous.
Maybe you need to see this and it will work out that you do, but I really meant it when I thanked you. Thank you for being Sangha. Thank you for your commitment to the Dharma and for everything that you do.
You kept walking down Mission and I rode away down 21st street. Then I started wondering which Tradition you are from and if you are based in The City. I turned around and tried to catch back up to you.
I found you again on Mission at 22nd Street as you got into your parked white car but did not want to bother you so I just prostrated to you three times from across the street.
Thank you again for keeping the Dharma alive nearly 2500 years after the Buddha left this planet. Please remain here and continue to keep the Dharma alive and accessible until all beings have finally awaken and samsara is empty.
Namaste!
