Press release from Westport Police Department: Dec. 22, 2020 The Westport Police Department Local Union #2080 in partnership with the Westport Police Benevolent Association would like to take the opportunity to extend our sincerest thanks for the generous donations that once again helped to make our annual Holiday Toy Drive an extremely successful event. Because of our donors' commitment to this cause, and through co-operation with multiple local charitable organizations, we were able to provide toys to well over one thousand children throughout Fairfield County who would have otherwise received none. Despite the hardships that have characterized this year for so many, our donors nevertheless once again demonstrated that the holiday spirit of giving is alive and well. A special thank you is owed to ASF Sports & Outdoors for hosting the in-person collection site as well as to Age of Reason, Awesome Toys and Gifts as well as the Toy Post for allowing collection bins to be set up within their stores. We are incredibly grateful for the individuals and local businesses that annually show their support, concern and generosity toward the underprivileged in our area.
