Reston Farmers Market Returns To Lake Anne Saturday For 2022 Season

RESTON, VA — If the singing birds and flowering trees aren't already enough of a signal that spring has arrived, how about Saturday's opening of the Reston Farmers Market for the 2022 season? Will that be enough to shake off your winter blues? This year's market will be open Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, through Dec. 3, in the parking lot of the Lake Anne Village Center at 1609-A Washington Plaza in Reston. The market will be closed on Sept. 24 for the Reston Multicultural Festival. The Reston Farmers Market will follow the Fairfax County Park Authority guidelines for COVID-19. Customers will not be required to wear a mask, but they are asked to respect others and stay at home if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Market managers John Lovaas and Fran Lovaas, as well as Keith and Anne Strange, will be on hand to welcome customers and answer questions. The Reston Farmers Market is one of only four county farmers markets to accept payments via the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Twenty-six vendors will be return to the Reston Farmers Market this year, along with five new ones, including a creamery and vendors that sell native plants, micro greens, cut flowers, and fresh juices, according to John Lovaas.
