ARLINGTON, VA — A fox showing signs of rabies was captured in Arlington near Chain Bridge Road Thursday morning, according to Arlington County Animal Control. Animal control officers responded to calls around 7:45 a.m. on Thursday about a disoriented fox in the Arlingwood Neighborhood near the 4100 blocks of 41 St. N. and N. Randolph Street, southeast of Chain Bridge Road and George Washington Parkway The fox had neurological signs consistent with rabies, according to Arlington County Animal Control. Residents who may have come into contact with the fox or have pets who may have come into contact with the fox should immediately call Arlington County Animal Control at 703-931-9241. Arlington County Animal Control is urging residents to stay away from any animals that appear sick, lethargic, disoriented, or aggressive and call animal control. Residents also should not handle dead animals in their yards like foxes, raccoons and groundhogs, but should call animal control.
