2 Men Face Drug, Gun Charges In Meriden: Police

MERIDEN, CT — Two men are facing weapons and drug charges, according to police. Officers were patrolling downtown April 19 when they spotted a BMW traveling on West Main Street with a license plate that was not assigned to any vehicle, according to DMV records. Police attempted to stop the car but it fled. A short while later, an officer was patrolling in the area of Veteran Street and saw the same BMW stopped and unoccupied in the middle of the road with two men fleeing from it on foot. The officer drove past Willow Towers and spotted the two men. He exited his cruiser and pursued them after they failed to comply with commands to stop. Police then caught the two men. Lamontaye Perry, 18, had a Taurus handgun, marijuana, and a digital scale, according to police. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a ghost gun, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and interfering with police. He was held on $100,000 bond. Juan Gomez, 21, was identified as the BMW's driver and had an active warrant for domestic violence charges, according to police. He was also found to be in possession of THC gummies and a BB gun. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, interfering with police, weapons in a motor vehicle, operating without a license, misuse of marker plate, and improper blinker. He was held on $75,000 bond.
