ANDOVER, MA — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car near 70 Elm Street in Andover around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The pedestrian was unconscious when first responders arrived on the scene, according to scanner reports. Rescue workers originally called for a MedFlight helicopter to transport the pedstrian from the scene to a Boston Hospital. The helicopter was diverted to Lawrence General Hospital, where the victim was being taken by ambulance.
A call for a second ambulance was issued to take the driver to the hospital.
