Here are the top five stories in Boulder today: Xcel to close Comanche 3 coal plant in Pueblo. Colorado's last coal-fired electricity source may close as early as 2031. Xcel Energy's plant in Pueblo is the largest source of greenhouse gas in the state and has been plagued by operational problems since opening in 2010. (CO Sun)Acting vice chancellor appointed for CU infrastructure and sustainability. Chris Ewing has been named acting vice chancellor, and will serve as the interim role for six months as the university determines a plan for filling the position on a permanent basis. (CU Today) Homesites finally getting cleared after Marshall Fire. It's taken awhile to get going, but the cleanup is finally moving forward, but most of the materials will be hauled to the dump.
