Description
CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is attempting to find a Manchester robbery suspect who is wanted on charges out of Portsmouth, too.
Matthew L. Stevenson is 41, about 6 feet tall, and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. Stevenson also has tattoos on his upper arms as well as wings and a spine on his back.
Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said Stevenson had been labeled with both "armed and dangerous" and "violent tendencies" warnings due to the warrants being issued against him — for strongarm robbery, trespassing, breach of bail, and seven assault charges. The robbery incident occurred in Manchester, while the other charges are connected to Portsmouth, he said.
"Stevenson is currently believed to be abusing drugs and has a history of assaultive behavior," White said. "Based on recent evidence, Stevenson is also believed to be in possession of a firearm and should be considered armed and dangerous."
Stevenson has ties throughout the state — including communities on the Seacoast, and in Strafford County, White said.
Stevenson's most recent case, according to superior court records, involved an incident in Farmington on March 15. He was scheduled for arraignment on April 14.
If you know where Stevenson is or see someone who looks like him, do not try to apprehend him. Call the police or the task force at 603-225-1632.
