Press release from Josephine Mairzadeh's Campaign: Nov. 10, 2020 Dear Friends & Supporters: My dedication and time in pursuit of our shared goals for the Great Neck Library campaign haveproven to be worthwhile. I am eager to begin working with the Board of Trustees to helpstrengthen our library and by extension our community. Libraries are an ecosystem of service that enrich our neighborhood. The Great Neck Library hasbeen an integral part of my personal development and is what inspired me to become anapprentice at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Thomas J. Watson Library and to work on aproject under the guidance of the Library of Congress. Through these experiences, I learned theskills that are pertinent to understanding a library system. These priceless centers of informationprovide the necessary structure to empower their members as future leaders so that they too canlater give back to their diverse communities, just as I am ready to. I look forward to being able to implement my campaign policies, in particular bringing furthervisibility to the youth and creating a Young Leadership Committee in order to give leverage tothose who can't vote. I am thankful to have been elected to the Board of Trustees and look forward to being a positivevoice in our community.
