May 15th 2022 2:00 PM Registration Live On Board Chess Tournament! Kindergarten ~ 6th Grade Sections (000 ~ ), (1100 ~ 1149), (1150 ~ 1600) Register Here Online (Online Registration Closes May 10th 2022) Dear Parents: Its time! and Allstar Institute 聚星教育中心 国际象棋 in house, in person and live on board chess tournament is about and will be held on May 15th 2022 at 2:00 PM (Doors open at 1:15 PM) For this first tournament we wanted to get best possible date for all. Outcome was approximately twenty (20) were able on this date and approximately five (5) students may have a conflict, all to which I hope the five (5) students may be able to alter their schedule if possible and attend. High level overview: (a) This tournament is for and will bring fun, learning, interaction, communications and a feeling of competition, all components of life to which strengthen oneself. That said, one could write books on tournaments and rules etc., however that is not the goal here … I will place some rules and notes here below as well at tournament (and or build a page on site and link) to rules and what not, however I will be there and I am able to adjudicate any issue that comes about (and there will be some) and by myself knowing very well each of the students ability, strength etc. in chess I am able to ensure them a fun and fair competition, again while keeping it simple and at their level with always additional learning and experience within each tournament. (b) High level rules, … This will be touch move, with time control of 15 minutes (this means such student / competitor gets 15 minutes on their clock – and each of them have burned this time control many times to end – which I almost want to push this to 20 or 30 minutes however we will start first tournament in May 2022 at 15 minutes making a game is able to last then of possible 30 minutes however most will not and they will then be repaired as to then start for next round. There will be four rounds. (c) All materials will be provided and set up by the school, … tables, boards, chess clocks, etc. As well we will have some water bottles, juices and small something of snacks. (d) The trophies you see in flyer are the final design and in actual build as speak. Ribbons and certificates are still in build. (e) The placement of each student to their rated section will be organized by myself and to which will be “very” close to their rating give or take some points high or low … meaning I know exactly where to place each student in their correct rating section o it is utmost fair and fun! (f) You may ask your child their rating as they will know it, thereby having an idea of their section they will be in. As well you may scroll below to which will show you all chess students ratings to date within April 2022 (give or take a few points depending on the day in April when I pulled data) * Special Note: Chess Directors (Miss Jia) & (Mr. Gary) Compliments: In all truth what an amazement to all students! They “all” started out with ratings about 800’s and drop quick (as expected) to 500’s give or take then within time they level out their rating, learn and rise with serious effort, focus, hard-work and we have fun all the while! Ask them their rating you will be proud 🙂 Its going to be fun!
