Description
I realize that this is probably a long-shot in this area, but here goes... Mid-forties singer/songwriter/guitarist/bassist looking for writing and recording collaboration. I've been playing in original bands around the Midwest since the early '90s. Got burnt out after sporadically gigging from 1993 to 2010. Nowadays, I'm a home studio recluse mainly interested in writing songs, recording, and promoting releases online (e.g. MP3 sales, making music videos, streaming, etc.). To reiterate, I'm interested in writing/recording and releasing music online. I'm not interested in playing live at this time. Influences: Beachwood Sparks, The Beatles, Beck, The Church, The Clientele, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Sundays, Syd Barrett, etc. These are artists that I'm currently into. However, I appreciate a wide range of music, and can go in a lot of different directions as long as there is mutual chemistry and the material is high quality. Interested in writing well-crafted songs that combine guitars, synths, and electronic elements. Also interested in a reciprocal collaborative process where songwriting credits are split equally. Devoted to the DIY ethic and some other aspects of the punk ethos. I've been home-recording since 1992. Clarity, layers, texture, and headphone enjoyment are all important to me. Simple Pro Tools setup with limited space, but I know how to get good results in the end. I'd like to get together on a weekly basis for a few hours of crafting songs and recording (maybe more often if something takes off). Just need one or two others to generate inspiration, bounce ideas around, and help move the process forward. Potentially compatible with other music lovers who are creative/artistic and bright. I'm fairly liberal, and would prefer to spend my time with those who have a similar worldview. Ideally looking for a longer-term musical partnership with kindred spirits. It takes time to craft songs, record them well, properly release them, and build a following.
