Job Duties: • Welcome members and visitors to the church and allow access to the building for evening meetings and events. Provide basic hosting duties, give directions, respond to requests for supplies or adjustments to room set ups. • Clean classrooms, offices and preschool rooms after hours including dusting, vacuuming, mopping and trash removal. Clean and sanitize restrooms and kitchenettes • Occasionally move lightweight furniture during cleaning • Set up meeting rooms and event spaces according to the daily schedule via Outlook email. • Secure the building at closing time and set the security alarm Qualifications and experience: • Available to work weekday afternoons and evenings until approximately 10:30pm. • Demonstrated track record of reliable attendance and punctuality • Minimum 2-3 years of continuous janitorial experience • Grounds and building maintenance experience a plus • Ability to read and follow calendar schedules, written instructions such as room set-ups, and cleaning instructions • Ability to access and use Outlook email software to receive and send messages • Demonstrated ability to take initiative within prescribed limits • Customer service experience and ability to work well with others • Physical ability to use a ladder for cleaning and maintenance duties; ability to lift approximately 50 pounds of materials such as cartons of supplies or cleaning equipment; stamina to stand, walk and work for 8 hours with standard breaks About us: University Congregational UCC is a vibrant, progressive Christian community in Seattle's University District.
