Description
We are seeking a dependable warehouse operator who is detail-oriented and possesses the physical and mental stamina this role requires. You will play an important role in ensuring our warehouse operates with optimum precision and efficiency, helping to fulfill orders and prepare them for shipment. Forklift certification and previous warehouse experience are a major plus. Warehouse Operator Duties and Responsibilities • Understand PMI Pipe Steel & Supplies mission statement • Assist with all shipping, receiving, and inventory organization operations • Work under supervision and direction of warehouse manager • Help to efficiently carry out all product loading and unloading tasks • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization • Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents • Inspect receivables for defects, damages, or missing items • Communicate effectively with cooperate, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and vendors • Unload, stack, move, and place products in designated areas • Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse as needed • Keep yard maintained, i.e., cut grass, remove weeds at fence line and around inventory pick up debris, sweep warehouse, clean material for show etc. • Perform detailed manual inventory counts • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulation • Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment as necessary • Fulfill and track outgoing orders • Some saw operations and painting required Forklift Operator Duties and Responsibilities • Move inventory and materials across facility and yard • Identify and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, yard, trucks, and storage areas in the warehouse. • Stack and organize material • Pull inventory to prepare for shipment • Load and unload trucks • Update inventory activity, lists, records, and log all completed tasks • Note and request any damaged materials or replacements needed • Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations • Submit inventory records and log at the close of day • Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly. • Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items. • Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas. • Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor. • Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas. • Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to truck mechanic. • Performs other related duties as requested. Saw Operator Duties and Responsibilities • Set up the saw machine, making adjustments for each job • Set stops or guides to specified lengths • Operate the saw machine, keeping an eye out for any defects or issues • Use measurement tools to ensure accuracy • Help transport finished pieces • Maintain saw and keep work area clean • Report any discrepancies • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers • Accurately complete paperwork • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders • Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to management • Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures • Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times • Wear protective clothing and equipment as required • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company protocol • Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks • Able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb repeatedly during the course of the shift • Able to pass a drug test and background check • Other tasks as assigned Warehouse Operator Requirements and Qualifications • Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use • High school diploma or GED equivalent • Previous warehouse experience preferred • Able to operate forklift, utility vehicles, overhead cranes and small power tools • Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training • Physical stamina; must be able to lift 50+ pounds at a time • Able to work long hours on one's feet and perform physically demanding tasks • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent verbal communicator • Excellent time management skills • Computer literate • Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment • Basic math – weight, length, size, language and reading skills etc. • Dependable and responsible • Strong work ethic • Comfortable working independently • Makes safety a priority • Spanish as a second language a plus • Legally eligible to work in the United States Forklift Operator Requirements and Qualifications • Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use • High school degree or equivalent (preferred) • Basic math, language, and reading skills • Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly • Current forklift license and certification if not certified you will be by the company • Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test. • 1+ years of experience working with heavy machinery, forklifts, or other related equipment a plus • Able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb repeatedly during the course of the shift • Can lift up to 50 pounds • Able to pass a drug test and background check • Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends Saw Operator Requirements and Qualifications • Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use • High school diploma or GED certificate • Experience operating a band and chop saw (1-3 years preferred) • Forklift experience a plus • Basic math skills • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs. • Attention to detail • Ability to squat, twist, reach and stand/walk for an entire workday • Ability to work in different weather conditions i.e., heat, cold, rain, and dust • Ability to read, write and speak English.
