Press release from the City of West Haven: Posted on: November 19, 2020 WEST HAVEN, Nov. 19, 2020 — Applications for the CT CARES Small Business Grant, the latest recovery program from the state Department of Economic and Community Development to aid those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, are due by 5 p.m. today, Nov. 19. The Connecticut Small Business Development Center is working with DECD to support the grant applications, which are specifically for nonprofits and small businesses that may not have received other assistance; although if they did, they are still eligible. Half the $25 million allocated for the grant is for distressed municipalities, including West Haven. DECD wants as many local small businesses and nonprofits as possible to take advantage of the one-time grant program. The application period closes at 5 p.m. today.
