182 South Joliet Circle near Alameda and Ironton, Denver CO
Description
My sweet dog and escape artist, Alex, (an orange poofy dog with keen eyes about 13 pounds) got out last Saturday morning in the Advenir del Arte complex off the Highline Canal, just east of Havana off of Alameda. She is very friendly and loves to chase squirrels and rabbits. She has a high pitched bark and a scratchy, expressive howl. She also tries to 'talk'. I had just been brushing her (she hates being groomed) and she snuck out through the porch while her collar was still off. The protective border on the porch had been disturbed by the cat but I didn't notice it until later when I realized Alex missing. Her microchip is still registered to an abusive meth head who would not relinquish ownership to anyone else. She was recently diagnosed with urinary crystals and should be on prescription dog food. (I probably let her eat too many sardines, her favorite thing.) She has a collapsing trachea, which sounds like a cough with gagging/throat clearing, and is worsened by overly strenuous barking/activity. I'm heartbroken not knowing if she's ok.
