You see Lyndon Johnson went to war without paying for it... He borrowed money to fight the war and give jobs to the united auto workers, the ILWU, and other unions. But lets talk about Democrats on a more local level Calif has had 4 Republican Governors in the last 60 years, and has not controlled the state legislature during that time. California is in debt to the tune of 500 billion dollars.. (read moody's report) Right now there are over 7 million unemployed in Calf. There are about the same number collecting some type of "gov" assistance... I don't have to say Tax payer assistance since the state is borrowing money to pay for it's gift programs. The democratic party runs Calif Second look at most of the major cities in the US, Detroit went bankrupt, Chicago is bankrupt San Jose went bankrupt, I could go on, but why, each of these cities are controlled by the democratic party... yes there are cities that are close to bankrupt and run by Republicans. If states could file for bankruptcy there would be at least 5 that would have to, that include Cal. Texas, NY, Illinois. Would you be willing to pay a 60% tax rate to pay for the debt? Another part of the cause for large debt is immigration. when there are about 50 million unemployed in America why do we still have unfettered immigration, when there are 500 thousand homeless in American, there were 600 thousand in 2016 after 8 years of the Obama/Biden Admin. In Calif which the southern half is a Desert, they keep building new homes... is there a new supply of water? Former Gov. Brown said the roads are over crowded more home, more cars... none of this lays at the feet of Republicans, it's all Democratic. Twenty five years ago the democrats cried about over development today they are leading the charge So I've said a lot. you most likely not agree, but if you get on the computer and look any of this up you will find it is mostly correct. Now I believe that children should not go hungry, or be homeless, but I don't work for someone to sit on their asses and do nothing, The democratic party has for decades bought votes with their give away programs or entitlements which is BS. If there was no 16 amendment we would not have a Debt either local, state or national. I should leave it at that, but one final note why during 8 years of the Obama/Biden Admin, did they not try and sit down with Kim of North Korea, why were there 600 homeless, President Trump tried to bring jobs back to America and the Democrats cried about it. He was interfering in the private sector, not that the democrats have not done the same thing.. What about all the tried agreements that gave American companies the chance to move manufacturing overseas, hell even former president Obama said his trade agreement with South Korea back fired... what a joke. Clinton's trade agreements with Japan. President Trump renegotiating trade agreements to give American workers a better chance and there were the democrats fighting him... Not saying he did not have a big mouth, and pissed off many people including me.
