The Women’s Empowerment Symposium is free to the public ages 12 and older. Mark your calendar now for Saturday, June 4 from 10 am-3 pm. Come Saturday, June 4th from 10 am-3:00 pm to Metro Tech’s 3rd Annual Women’s Empowerment Symposium. This year’s event has even more shopping, fascinating speakers, food trucks with healthy and delicious options and much more. Coordinator of the events, Elena Troya said, “The Women’s Empowerment Symposium (WES) is about building relationships and network connections that last through time. Having different generations in the same building and sharing different experiences can help us avoid mistakes and to lift up women with positive experiences. We hope to improve their lives and their families to strengthen communities. Women owners of our popup shops make positive connections and give tips to support women in the workplace. Visitors will be inspired by an array of speakers with empowering topics. The WES is about working together as a community to develop a better economy to make the world a better place to live.” Opening the event is Ms. Jessica Martinez- Brooks, who is a fourth generation Oklahoman, has a long tradition of public service, which includes currently serving as the Senior Director, Strategic Director and Transformation for Metro Technology Centers.
